Are you having problems dealing out death in World of Warcraft? Do you find yourself eating dirt each time you battle an opponent? Then take the time to see how a WoW PvP guide will improve your skills. In this WoW PvP guidebook, I reveal several of the most brilliant strategies used by the world’s best players to dominate their competition every time.
Arena PvP, the Battlegrounds and Open-World PvP are the foremost arenas to engage in PvP with opponents. The differences are vast but the objectives are identical: be triumphant by annihilating your opponent. I will break down each playing field presently existing in WoW.
Open World PvP: More commonly known in game as “world pvp” this is basically ganking and fighting in the games world and not in a BG or Arena. This is to be expected in most of the PvP Server’s areas but not so much in the PvE Servers. Everyone at some point or other has been corpse camped by so annoying jerk. Usually these type of gankers are looking for areas that are popular places to gain exp at. While this provides a great dynamic to the game it can also be quite annoying in the same respect. A new style of World Pvp has shown up with the Lich King Expansion called Wintergrasp. This is a zone in Northrend devoted to one thing, “World Pvp”. You storm or protect a large fortress through the use of various tanks and other siege weapons.
One tactic for Wintergrasp is to control the two workshops near the keep. Other workshops are farther from the keep; capturing the nearest workshops will allow for swifter take-overs. When defending, order your team to protect the workshops, slowing down any invaders who want to bring their tanks to the gates.
Also, you must know where to hit your opponents so they can cause as little damage to you as possible, such as destroying their siege machines. This strategy is sound, especially since those machines cannot be fixed or healed. The WoW PvP guide has more step-by-step instructions for successful campaigns through these areas, but these hints have worked for me time and again.
Battlegrounds PvP – Alterac Valley This isn’t your standard capture-the-flag game — you must slay the other group’s commander. By overtaking the base towers and forcing the commander’s guards to despawn, you are ensuring the commander’s defeat. Want to know how to accomplish this? There is a 40 person per side limit in this battleground. Place 10 guards at your base (remember to leave no less than 2 healers) and covertly move on your opponent’s base towers. It should be simple as they are rarely guarded. Send whoever is left to capture the midfield towers and slay the midfield captain. Once you have secured the base towers, you need not worry about the midfield status and can continue with your plans to kill your opponent’s commander. I have been quite successful with this strategy and have also read about it in a few WoW PvP guides.
In the Battleground, Eye of the Storm, the mission is to be the first to get 2000 points. There is a flag in the middle of an area squared-out by four towers that can be taken. You gain points by taking the flag to any of your towers and by just controlling as many towers as you can. When the enemy is overpowering your squad, you need a good plan. When the opposing team has 3 of the 4 towers, take the flag and a few teammates and run. Once the enemy holds all 4 towers, they will come looking for the flag, as long as you keep it concealed. This will distract them, allowing your team to retake any towers and improving your chance for victory. This approach has gained momentum for my team quite frequently, and can be found in a WoW PvP guide.
The BG, Warsong Gulch, incorporates a capture-the-flag objective, the winner is the first team to capture the opponent’s flag three times. Several strategies, which I’ve seen in WoW PvP guides, can be implemented here. One strategy involves either using your entire team to defend your flag (sending out stealthers for the enemy flag), or attacking the enemy all at once to overwhelm their forces, take their flag, and prevent them from taking yours. I use this strategy successfully, as long as my team cooperates. Another strategy is to use some of your DPS to destroy any flag-seeking opponents, while having your main fighting force hold the center of the map. Order one druid, then two more, to capture the enemy flag. Then, when the druid returns with the flag, he will be escorted back to the friendly flag and defended by your team.
Stand of the Ancients: This is basically like a mini-Wintergrasp with nearly the same goal. If you are on the attacking side, group up the tanks to tear down the first gate as soon as you are able to. Once you are done with that you need to grab the graveyard. Doing so will let your whole team get more tanks from the workshop there. After you get to the third gate you need to blow up the turrets. Many people will flock to this gate to prevent the tanks from getting by, at this point turret fire will be very annoying. When you are defending, it is essential to go straight for the enemy tanks while ignoring others. Make sure you have people ready to defuse bombs that people drop at the gate.
The objective of the BG, Arathi Basin, is to control as many strategic locations as possible. An excellent plan is to capture the Blacksmith first. It is situated in the center of the map, allowing easy travel to the remaining spots. Immediately upon starting, go for the Blacksmith, other players will capture the spot nearest your base. In my opinion, contrary to what some WoW PvP guides say, this technique is the best.
Arena: This is the most intense pvp of them all. You need to play to near perfection to do well in any of the brackets, 2v2 3v3 5v5. You will have to put keybinds, mods, and even macros to use to do well in this form of PvP. You need to use a voice chat program so you can swiftly relate tactics to other players as well. Make sure to always be relating anything you can to your team so they can act accordingly. Mostly we never rush at the enemy, and this is probably what they are expecting. We play a small game of hide and seek to lure them into thinking we are scared. A little bit afterward we all hit them with everything we got. This has given us a great jumpstart on them even taking out much stronger opponents.
And now you know my secrets of success in PvP. This comes from hundreds of hours of gaming and gleening hints from a WoW PvP guide. WoW PvP guides are designed to assist players in accomplishing complete conquest with a variety of incredible tactics.
